Patrick Ness' brain is really something. This starts out in an intriguing way, with flashbacks that give you bits of insight into the main character Seth. Then you get your socks knocked off with revelations and lots of action, but also much about memory, family, responsibility, friendship, and the future of our world. Despite a bleak setting, there is so much humor in Regine and Tomasz. Literally laugh out loud. I'm still pondering the ending. I'm going to assume there is more to come, as much is still unanswered. The title perfectly matches the message. It's hard to be unbiased when I already love Ness, but I thought it was brilliant. Thanks to Candlewick Press for providing an ARC at ALA, and to Patrick Ness for signing it!
