I read until page 200 and stopped because I was feeling impatient, and a bunch of other holds came in for me. The writing is good - I liked the funny descriptions of the neighbor family, and Sam's isolation within her own family was painful. But because the jacket flap talks about the unthinkable happening, pages 1-200 felt like nothing was really happening except kissing and a really long buildup to whatever that's going to be. It might have been better if I hadn't known about that unthinkable thing coming. For older teens.-----------------Now that I've skimmed ahead and read other reviews, I'm glad I stopped, as I would've been in the camp of those irritated by the last quarter of the book too. Better editing would've helped; still a writer with promise.
