The Future of Us - Jay Asher, Carolyn Mackler What I liked: great premise; quick, light read; short chapters with alternating points of view; and Emma in particular goes through some realistic self-discovery.However, it was so predictable, and so similar to other books with the time travel/ripple effect storyline. The angst surrounding Emma and Josh's friendship was repetitive and had a middle-school feel to it, even though the characters and some situations were high school. The 90s references were fun for me, but I wonder if teens will get them or care. And the cover would lead someone to expect it's a much more serous book. Overall, a little disappointing.
