A Drowned Maiden's Hair: A Melodrama
I can't quite pinpoint why I enjoyed this so much. It's just such good storytelling. While much of it is sad, Maud's situation is complex and the overall tone is optimistic. It reminded me of The Secret Garden a bit. There would be much to discuss in a book group - loss, wealth, not feeling perfect, and how would you react to the different situations if you were Maud.
