This is an introspective story about two older teens, Jill still reeling from the unexpected death of her father and Mandy planning to give up her baby in an open adoption. The POV switches between the two characters, and in both cases we get a very detailed and realistic understanding of being in their situations. Getting to know these characters so well - their motivations, fears, and stories - was a strength of this book.However, there isn't a lot of action for an audiobook, and it was sometimes hard to tell if a characters was thinking or speaking. There's just so much thinking. Both narrators did a great job, and even seemed to match their voices for the characters of Jill's mom and boyfriend.
